CERAMIC ART

Black Vessel, 2024

Awarded by the Argentine Center for Ceramic Art, CAAC,

XXXVII Salon of New Artists in the Arts of Fire

From a very young age, with my grandmother, I learned to work with my hands. At that time she knitted and sewed with her electric machine.

Artistic expressions were always close to my family, theater, dance, cinema, plastic art.

I grew up traveling around my country, visiting spaces visited by artists from different cultural movements and historical moments in the formation of my homeland.

Ceramics were always there, waiting for me.

A few years ago, I gave myself the opportunity to enter their world, and there was no turning back.

I walk this path of deep investigation and I find myself again.

The Nido series is a collection of ceramic works that explore themes
of healing, renewal, and the relationship between human creation
and the natural world.

In these works, the clay, a material that embodies both fragility and
strength, is intentionally left with cracks and breaks—marks of
vulnerability. The artist then intervenes by weaving natural fibers
into the ceramic surface, closing the cracks and mending the
breaks. This act of repair is symbolic, representing the process of
healing and the restorative power of nature. The fibers, which echo
the delicate structures of nests or woven protective layers, function
as both a literal and metaphorical means of protection, holding
together what is fragile and broken.

The Raíces series is a collection of ceramic works that delves into
the themes of connection, interdependence, and the invisible ties
that bind us together. Each piece in the series begins with a
carefully shaped ceramic vessel, crafted from clay that serves as a
foundational symbol of the earth and its many layers. These vessels,
with their smooth and organic forms, represent the basic structure
of life—simple yet profound.

The artist introduces natural fibers, carefully weaving them around
the necks of the vessels. This intervention is not only aesthetic but
symbolic, as the fibers function as networks, creating links between
the individual pieces and suggesting the idea of a larger,
interconnected whole

Tapestry Serie

Tapestry is a series of ceramic pieces that explore repetition and
perception through a modular composition. Each piece measures 1
cm by 1 cm and is carefully handmade using ancient pottery
techniques. Throughout the series, the pieces are combined in
different border patterns, creating subtle contrasts by using two
tones of clay.

The work invites a dynamic visual experience: as the viewer steps
back from the piece, small details and the arrangement of the
elements form drawings that emerge from the tapestry. This
phenomenon, where what is imperceptible up close comes to life
from a distance, emphasizes the importance of scale and
perspective in the perception of ceramics.

The creation process, done with hands and traditional tools, is a
tribute to the ancient techniques that have shaped ceramics
throughout history. Each piece is a microcosm that, when united
with others, builds a visual narrative that flows between the
individual and the collective.

Rural Vessels Series

These pieces, crafted from wild clay using traditional handcrafting
techniques, form a collection where texture and color are the key
elements. The search for simple, organic shapes complements the
careful treatment of the outer surface without overshadowing it,
allowing the earth’s natural elements to take center stage.

This approach emphasizes the purity of the raw material, creating a
direct connection between the object and its origins. The rough
textures and earthy tones become the true protagonists of the
series, evoking a sense of closeness and respect for the natural
processes that bring each piece to life.

Each piece is one-of-a-kind, shaped by hand
without the use of a wheel or molds, ensuring its
uniqueness.

I work with local clay, a noble material that respects
the environment and requires a simple process to be
shaped.

My creative process is in harmony with Pacha Mama,
where natural beauty transforms into art.

By selecting my ceramic works to decorate your
spaces, you not only enhance your home but also
valorize American culture and honor the ancestral
techniques that have endured over time.

Each piece is the result of manual pottery
techniques inherited from indigenous peoples of
America, using red and black clay that I personally
collect from the shores of Laguna de San Vicente in
Buenos Aires Province, Argentina.
